Recycling Focus
1st Annual Citrus County Recycles Day, Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Inverness Wal-Mart Garden Center.
Recycling should be an everyday habit. And with the introduction of single-stream recycling in Citrus County, recycling is now easier than ever. To promote the recycling habit, Citrus 20/20 will host the 1st Annual Citrus County Recycles Day on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Garden Center of the Inverness Wal-Mart on Gulf-to-Lake Highway. The event will precede America Recycles Day on Nov. 15, the only nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.
Citrus 20/20, in partnership with Citrus County Solid Waste Division, Keep Citrus Beautiful and FDS Disposal, is promoting the importance of recycling throughout the County. Lace Blue McLean, president of Citrus 20/20, is excited about this strategic partnership and invites the community to come out on Nov. 12 and learn how recycling can help protect our county's natural resources and save money in the long run!
Vice President of Recycling Programs at Keep America Beautiful and National Program Manager for America Recycles Day, Brenda Pulley said, "We are very proud supporters of Citrus 20/20's Citrus County Recycles Day event and commend their efforts to promote recycling throughout their county. Recycling is the easiest thing we can all do to save energy, conserve natural resources and create green jobs. Collectively, through events like these, we aim to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year."
